I’ve heard about Craiglist for some time and decided to take a visit today. And guess what I got there? It’s not an ad but a, hmm, what shall I call it, I’m not sure, right, let’s call it an open letter from someone anonym. This guy(?) concludes that women aren’t actually attracted to men and men shouldn’t waste their time for women, but instead channel their energy for something better to the world. Well, this is a real excellent reading, make me thought, you know. Okay, here is I put the writing for your enjoyment (before it’s gone forever from Cariglist).

How to Upgrade WordPress 2.1.3

Or, in other words, how to get lucky upgrading your WordPress blog.
Okay, this blog has just been upgraded to the latest WordPress (v2.3.1). And I’ve managed to upgrade it without a single glitch. Lucky me :) So as my gratitude to the WP team that has created such a wonderful blogging platform, I’ll write down how I did the upgrade here in my blog; hope it helps others that always wanted to upgrade but still afraid to do it ;)

Please READ ALL the steps written here BEFORE you do anything, so you’ll get the big picture. Also, make sure that you really need the upgrade. It could be security reasons (security hole in your current WordPress), or aesthetic reasons (new theme you like only works in v2.3), or functional reasons (you want the new WordPress features).

I just found a pretty amusing and useful article. It teaches you how to do seemingly complex math calculation in your head. No, this thelistuniverse’s article is not that simple math tricks that you’ve learned in the high school. I guarantee you’ve never seen some of it.

One example:

Calculate a Tip
If you need to leave a 15% tip, here is the easy way to do it. Work out 10% (divide the number by 10) - then add that number to half its value and you have your answer:
15% of $25 = (10% of 25) + ((10% of 25) / 2)
$2.50 + $1.25 = $3.75

thelistuniverse is a site that creates lists of many different things. For example:
* Top 10 Bizarre Curses
* Top 10 Wired Microphones Still Used On Stage
* Top 10 Depressing Scenes in Cinema
* 10 Rare Cloud Formations
* Top 10 Bad Male Actors
* 10 Films You Haven’t Seen But Should
* 15 Truly Bizarre Patents
* Top 10 Flight Upgrade Tips
* Ten Whatchamacallits And Their Real Names
* 10 Great Writers Who Died Young

So just like this blog, thelistuniverse is worth visiting after your lunch break ;)
